Teenage Boy Arrested Along With His Father by India for Their Alleged Participation in the Freedom Movement
On August 19th, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids against pro-freedom activists in Kashmir at three locations. During the raids, they detained a teenage boy and his father from the Kupwara area of Kashmir.
The 19-year-old boy, Mehrajudin Sofi, and his father, Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, were taken into custody by the NIA during a raid in Kralpora village, Kupwara. Mehraj is an undergraduate student. They were then transported to Srinagar for further interrogation after being accused of being involved in the Kashmiri self-determination movement.
