On October 17th, a group of unidentified men, brought down the signboard of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, the most prominent pro-freedom forum in Kashmir. In various video clips, viral on social media, the mob can be seen pulling down the signboard from the Hurriyat office. In a statement, Hurriyat stated that it “denounces the hooliganism demonstrated outside its office in Srinagar by state-sponsored goons with police as bystanders.”[8]
