On 1st November, an Indian Court in Bengaluru sentenced a 21-year-old Kashmiri engineering student, Faiz Rasheed, to 5-Year imprisonment for expressing verbal support for the pro-freedom Kashmiri armed fighters. He was accused of “intending to disrupt the sovereignty and integrity of India”. He has been booked under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, which has been weaponized by the Indian state to crush all dissent and pro-freedom activism in Kashmir.[1]
