On August 15th, the Indian state announced its decision to rename 199 schools/colleges and roads in Kashmir after members of Indian armed forces. The same armed forces have persistently violated the human rights of Kashmiris and committed war crimes against them. Nomenclature is used by the Indian state to inflict psychological trauma on Kashmiris.[12]
